PSVAR-Compliant Coaches
The Public Service Vehicle Accessibility Regulations ensure coaches are fully accessible and can safely accommodate passengers with disabilities. A high proportion of the Redwing Coaches fleet is PSVAR compliant, so if anyone travelling with us has specific accessibility requirements, we will be able to provide safe and comfortable transport options.

Booking PSVAR-compliant vehicles with Redwing Coaches

We ensure that coach transportation is safe and comfortable for everyone travelling with us. As well as being PSVAR compliant, our coaches are fitted out with full safety features for all passengers. If you are a wheelchair user, it’s safe for you to remain in your wheelchair on board if required.

What makes a coach PSVAR compliant?
All coaches registered before 2000 with a capacity of 22 passengers or more, and all vehicles that have a London service permit, must now be PSVAR compliant.
All PSVAR-compliant coaches will:
- Have a wheelchair lift fitted
- Be easily accessible
- Have larger digital signage to cater for visual impairment
- Be easily identifiable
- Have drivers who are fully trained in the use of the wheelchair lift
All our PSVAR-compliant vehicles are driven by Redwing Coaches employees who are trained in helping people to board and disembark. The driver will be fully responsible for ensuring that anybody with accessibility requirements can travel safely on board.

PSVAR regulations are changing the face of coach transport. However, we like to stay ahead of the game at Redwing Coaches. We’ve been operating accessible vehicles that comply with standards set out in the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) since 2008. We are one of the biggest operators of accessible vehicles in the UK. We care about our passengers and making coach travel accessible for everyone.
